The Elders of Community Church serve as spiritual shepherds—offering care, encouragement, and Christlike presence to both our church family and the wider Boulder Junction community. Our elders serve according to the New Testament model of spiritual leadership (1 Peter 5:1–4, Titus 1:5–9, Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:1–7).
Their heart is to serve God by caring for people. Whether through prayer, gentle guidance, a listening ear, or shared tears and laughter, our Elders walk alongside others in both everyday moments and life’s turning points. They assist in worship by helping lead Communion on the first Sunday of each month and on special occasions. They help serve Pastor, staff, church council and other ministry leaders, modeling Christlike humility and dependence on God’s Word and Spirit. You’ll often find them praying with others, visiting those in need, and standing in the quiet spaces where faith becomes tangible.
Elders also help welcome new members, support the Act of Love ministry, and offer care during times of relational tension or need. Their leadership may show up in small groups, spiritual formation opportunities, or simply in a warm conversation after a service.
They are here not just for those who call this church home year-round, but also for those who join us for a season—whether you’re visiting for a week or spending the summer with us. The Elders are a consistent, compassionate presence, offering connection and care to all.
Their example reminds us that leadership in the church begins with love, lives through prayer, and leads with humility.
Elders are available for prayer, pastoral care, and spiritual conversations. If you’d like to meet with an Elder or just have a phone call, please contact one of the Elders noted below.
